We are surrounded by people every day whose lives are happening things we can't even imagine. It's so easy to look past, rush into your own affairs and assume that everyone has things pretty much the same as themselves. But what happens if we stopped for a moment and saw people as their true selves -- with their stories, experiences and challenges?

Everyday heroes we don't notice

In the checkout queue of the store in front of you can stand:

🛒 An entrepreneur who is afraid of bankruptcy and wonders how to get paid the wages of his employees.

🛒 A young person who feels like an outsider and does not know if he/she belongs to anything.

🛒 A caregiver who hasn't slept properly for weeks and still bears responsibility for their loved one.

When we look only at the surface, we may see a tired look, a short answer, or a rushed step -- but we don't see the underlying story.

How can we see each other's stories better?

🌍 Ask more, assume less — Often already a small gesture such as “How are you doing?” , can open up an important conversation.

🌍 Understand that everyone lives a different reality — What is easy for one may be impossible for another.

🌍 Stop for a moment — In a hurry, we easily pass each other. A small moment can mean for another the most important encounter of the whole day.

Why does this matter?

We talk a lot about community and caring about each other, but it doesn't arise by itself — it builds the way we meet each other. If we want a society where everyone can feel included, we must first To see each other genuinely.

When was the last time you stopped to listen to someone's story? What do you think about how we could better see each other? Let's continue the discussion.
